　　There is an assumption that governments be responsible to send children to school, while others say it should be parents’ responsibility. From my perspective, it is simplistic to place more emphasis on either view as opposed to the other, because neither side is justified enough to represent the entire picture.

　　On the one hand, it is generalized to assume the transport to and from schools to be governments’ responsibility. Some people may deem the service as a welfare benefit deserved by taxpayers; nevertheless, there are lots of factors to be taken into account in relation to the feasibility of the idea. A key consideration is the costs: I doubt that the municipal governments of populous cities can afford enough school buses and drivers to meet the needs of each family; not to be left behind is the potential congestion caused by increased school buses during rush hours. In this respect, many parents may prefer to send children to schools by other means, whether by public transport or by private cars.

　　By the same token, I also don’t believe it necessary for parents to send children to schools. While some might argue that accompanying their children to schools every day is a key part of quality time with their beloved ones, it doesn’t mean that all parents should follow this way, especially for commuters. Living in a fast-paced society, those leading a hectic life are usually not allowed extra time for sending children to schools before hurrying to work. With this in mind, sometimes school buses seem to be an alternative option.

　　From what has been discussed above, it is my conclusion therefore, whether it should be authorities or parents to send children to schools cannot be discussed in the abstract, but judged in contexts.
