雅思G类大作文考题分析-老龄人口增加 考题回忆:In many countries, the population of old people is increasing. Are there more advantages than disadvantages?
Could this have more positive or negative effects on society? 或 Do the advantages of the trend outweigh the disadvantages?或 Is this a positive development? 考场上可根据具体问法调整观点及个人立场。
范文:291words
Many nations have witnessed an increase in the number of elderly people in recent decades. Although there can be some advantages of this trend, I would argue that the drawbacks outweigh.
An ageing population can be beneficial to both society and individuals since seniors can play an importanly part in educating the younger generation. In industries where experience is highly valued, the older the employees are, the greater the contribution they can make. For instance, in China, most outsanding experts in fields like medicine and advanced technology are over 70 years old. Meanwhile, senior employees can fulfill the role of consultants or tutors, offering guidance and suggestions to young workers and helping to increase the productivity of the company. Besides, the elderly can also help to look after youngsters at home, which will ease the pressure of working adults.
Despite the positives mentioned above, I believe that the increasing older population will bring more drawbacks. Firstly, an ageing population means a decrease in the number of working people, which might affect economic growth in a country. Obviously, it is difficult for a nation to stay competitive in the global market without enough young people who are energetic and innovative. Secondly, the well-being of the public would be negatively influenced if the government had to inverst more in pensions and healthcare for the elderly, because of the possible shrink in the budget. Finally, it is also a challenge for young people to take care of their older family memebers and they may find it harder to reach a work-life balance.
In conclusion, while the increase in the number of older people can be positive in terms of educating the next generation, I believe that there are more disadvantages to countries and families.
