　　I object to the notion that intelligence level is the key to a student’s success in schools. First of all, success encompasses multiple dimensions. For instance, luck determines whether an individual would have access to many key opportunities; emotional quotient, on the other hand, controls the impressions he/she leaves on his/her peers, which further determines how successful this individual appears to be in the crowd. In my high school, the president of our student council was just a normal person with an average intelligence level. However, he was very good at soft skills, thus gained credibility among his peers. On top of that, he also had great luck. He often coincidentally encountered great opportunities for him to present himself in the public, thus he collected the most votes during president elections. Even though he is not the smartest, wouldn’t he still be considered successful?
