  The issue of high executive compensation compared to the average worker is a sticking point that has been debated for decades. One group fervently supports such a practice while the other side believes that executives are grossly overpaid, which will be further explored.

  There is no doubt that executives including CEOs, CFOs, CTOs and other upper management positions bring a higher value to an organization than the typical worker. These individuals have amassed extensive knowledge and experience that are used to guide the operations and future growth of a company. It can also be argued that executives also bear a greater workload than the average worker as the amount of time spent and efforts expended in steering the enterprise in the right direction are significantly larger.

  On the contrary, workers on the front lines are the backbone of a business who implement services and provide goods to customers whereby their existence ensures that a firm is able to continue operations. In this day and age, CEO pay is hundreds of times higher than median worker income,

  a ratio that has continued to increase over the past few decades. This steady uptrend is certainly unfair as it makes the rich richer and the poor poorer,leading to a concentration in wealth. All in all, from my point of view, it is justifiable that executives receive higher salaries to compensate them for their wisdom, business acumen and pressure-filled jobs. Nevertheless, the exorbitant ratio of executive-to-worker incomes is utterly and disgustingly high, which needs to come down in order to match any form of fairness.
