  As students, we are used to sit still in the classrooms all day long and receiving all the lectures about different subjects. During these daily practices, we tend to lose interest in the contents taught in classes. Hence, many agents have come up with solutions regarding how to raise students’ interests in classroom settings.  In my opinions, the most efficient practice would rely on the use of advanced technologies.

  First of all, technology makes various stimulus available during the lectures, and these stimulus propel students to be more concentrated. Nowadays, advanced classroom technologies include projectors which can display visual signals,speakers blasting music or other audio cues, even ordour generators that produce different smells. All these different stimulus would assist the teaching process for students to better understand the concepts. Therefore, students would be intrigued by all these stimulus during their learning journey in the classroom.

  Secondly, technology allows room for higher chance of participation among more students. For example, I once had a class about marketing and business operations. Instead of  pouring 3 hours of business model ideas down on us, my teacher utilized an online software that would mimic a virtual café and its operations. He invited all of us to create our own stores, and to use the tools taught in class to operate our own café shops. By participating through software myself, I understand the topics more deeply. And my interests for this class had maintained pretty high all along till the end of that semester.

  Lastly, compared with the other 2 options, technology is an more engaging and a more novel teaching style. As human, we tend to be drawn by novel signals, some sounds, smells or lightings would immediately stimulate us, hence attention and curiosity is spontaneously triggered. However, no matter teachers lead group discussions or connecting knowledge with the outside world, both methods are still limited to simply verbal communications. Unlike the other 2 options, technology offers us a new teaching style. Needless to say, technology did a much better job in terms of efficiency when it comes to raise students’ classroom interests.

  In conclusion, I think technology can definitely raise students’ interests inside classrooms because for the following reasons: more variety of stimulus, higher chance of participation and more available information.
