Opinions differ as to whether newspapers hold the right to publicize people'spersonal lives or whether strict control should be put upon such an action. This essaywill discuss two opposing ideas.
Tobegin with, itisunderstandable why some people support thepublishment of private details in newspapers. One reason is that some individuals, especially celebrities and political figures, would like to have their names widely known. Thus, they would allow newspapers to write articles about their daily routines in orderto cultivate interests from the mass population. For example, the publicity of aprominent politician's pastimes of charity or helping the elderly would significantlyboost his or her credibility among all citizens, especially the supporters.Likewise, anarticle about a musician showing that he or she regularly spends time drawing on theweekends would showcase his or her talents and attract more fans.
on the contrary, there are valid reasons for newspapers to be controlled on exposingpeople's private lives. Firstly, the flawed aspects of individuals should not be sharedpublicly as it will damage their images. For instance, news about the love affair of anactress will cause a massive scandal resulting in a decrease in her reputation.similarly, the extravagant life of a royal member when unveiled would bring anabomination to him and the entire royal family. Moreover, uncontrolled publicity ofprivate details means that people's lives are being illegally invaded and recorded, which may be against their will and certainly violate the law of privacy. Therefore, everypublisher should be strongly restricted in recording and sharing private lives unlessthey acquire people's permission.
In conclusion, while some people accept the news coverage of their personal lifefor promotional purposes, others believe publishers should be strictly controlled asnon-permitted publicity of private details might rather harm their reputation.
