Countless young people spend huge amounts of cash on attending events, collecting memorabilia or purchasing items endorsed by their favourite famous people. Youngsters are impressionable, gullible and easily influenced, particularly by their favourite stars, no matter what they do. Nonetheless, scandals, illegal behaviour, infidelity, tax evasion and substance abuse are merely a few of the wrongdoings of famous individuals publicised in the media. Unfortunately, certain fans blindly follow the actions of their favourite celebrities despite questioning the ethics of such behaviour, which is a terrible occurrence.
Nevertheless, it is wholly unfair and a complete misrepresentation to state that every single media and sports star sets an awful example. There are celebrities who donate to charity, spend time with disadvantaged groups or even champion a cause such as an incurable disease or environmental issue. On the contrary, government ought to set stringent rules of what can be viewed in the media in order to prevent a handful of fans from following their idols down the wrong path.
