  作文范文:

More government investment should be on the teaching of science than any other subjects in order to keep a country's development and progress. To what extent do you agree or disagree? The development of science has played a crucial role in the advancement of societies all across the globe. Nevertheless, scientific progress comes at a cost and government needs to foot the bill, which is an issue that will be further discussed. On the one hand, through scientific discovery, people's lifespans have lengthened, vaccines for the deadliest diseases have been created, not to mention individuals are living more satisfying and productive lives. It can be argued that the world needs more scientists to better advance the fields of medicine, physics and other scientific areas. In order to cultivate brilliant chemists, physicists and biologists, students need to have access to science courses in school, which would directly result from larger government investment.

On the other hand, it is challenging to dictate that science is the most essential subject at school, which warrants the largest government investment. This is due to the fact that there are numerous other fields that directly contribute to a nation's development and progress. Financial and banking sectors, education and healthcare systems not only require scientists but also other professionals that can improve people's lifestyles. Furthermore, not every student has a scientific mind whereby certain pupils may be more talented in the arts or athletic activities. These students should not be forced to focus on science as their values and abilities may not align with the scientific subjects. All in all, government investment in school should be distributed based on the skillset of the individual students. Although science is a crucial field, there are other areas of interest that are suited to the development of society.(In Total : 298 words)
