Some people tend to believe that journalist reports published in various means of media are irrelevant to our daily routines and it is thus pointless to consume press releases from newspapers or television. Conversely, I would support that there are intimate bounds among media and contemporary life and that it is arguably necessary to spend some time on reading news.
The media and the public interact with each other and none of which can be independent without the other. Firstly, news reported in the media has tremendous influence on people’s thoughts and sequentially affect public behaviors. Individuals’ decision-making process is based on their recognition of current events which are generated by news producers. If a mainstream or an official news publisher releases a news concerning an outbreak of a highly contagious disease, for example, the public will treat this information as authentic and everyone will quickly respond to it by purchasing necessary commodities, which will definitely raise the price level and engender chain reaction. Secondly, public tastes may also seem as a determinant when news’ editors decide what kind of news are to be prioritized in order that the news enterprises can attract more readers and become more profitable.
Since the influence of news agencies cannot be neglected, it is wise to devote some time on consuming content from newspaper or television, which are obviously two major informative channels to ordinary people. Reading local newspaper or paying attention on domestic news programs can make us more familiar with the ongoing affairs such as political views and economic trends. For instance, majority of entrepreneurs and investors habitually connect themselves to official news media in order to learn fresh national policies and market tendencies. Moreover, news media play a role of educator to some extent. Those who lack sufficient information offered by news programs are likely to suffer constrains in terms of commonsensical knowledge and thinking pattern. Will-informed people, however, are thought to have constant reading habits and therefore have broader outlooks, which are an essential element of critical thinking skills.
In conclusion, it is absolutely incorrect to understate the association between journalist products and our lives as news industry have the capacity to shape our behaviors. Having some occasions on digesting news from major information mediums is consequently meaningful when considering the aforementioned advantages.
