雅思写作预测Nowadays young people overly admire media and sports celebrities. Do you
think it is a positive or negative development?(2016/05/28)
范文:
It is not uncommon to see youngsters around talking about their shared idols who
are either popular actors or sports stars excitedly during spare time, in the
workplace or on the subway. As far as I am concerned, admiring celebrities overly
is overall a detrimental trend for the young generation and society despite several
benefits it may bring about.
Admittedly, from psychological perspective, it is understandable that a certain
number of young people consider star worship a form of escapism and a way to
alleviate their stress from daily busy schedules. Besides, some celebrities,
especially top athletes with valuable qualities including persistence and diligence
set a shining example, encouring and inspiring their fans to follow them for the
purpose of sparing no effort in pursuing their dreams, which is a kind of positive
spiritual belief to some extent.
However, I hold the opinion that this is generally an adverse trend owing to its
unpleasant and overwhelming results influencing majority of youngsters. There is
no doubt that the young could be immature and impulsive, a consequence that they
are likely to imitate all the actions of their idols , irrespective of whether
these actions are beneficial or not, ranging from a materialistic lifestyle, an
individualistic way of living to more problematic behaviours such as racism and
discrimination. These outcomes are negative not only for young people themselves
but also for the society as a whole in the long term.
In conclusion, the youth are supposed to think rationally about star worship.
Otherwise, the proclivity of admiring and even imitating these celebrities
excessively may result in a wide range of unexpected effects and thus is a negative
tendency in today's societ
