　　并列句

　　由连接词(Linking Words)连接的两个或者两个以上的简单句就是并列句。因此掌握并列句的关键就是正确使用连接词。Linking Words可以分为三类：顺接，转折和因果。

　　表示顺接的linking words有：besides, what is more, in addition, also, etc

　　① The boosted diversity of media makes quantities of news uncontrollable by governments. Also, it may exert adverse effects on the public.

　　② The population explosion is viewed as one of the contributing factors leading to the traffic congestion. Also, the rapid development of vehicle is to blame.

　　表示转折的linking words：although, despite that, however, etc.

　　① It is reasonable to add music and painting to the school courses. However, too many subjects may lead to heavier pressure for students.

　　② Increasing the price of petrol is one way to reduce the traffic problem although it is not an effective approach.

　　表示因果的linking words：therefore, as a result, for that reason, etc.

　　① Arts can stimulate the capability of creation and imagination. For that reason it is reasonable to add music and painting to the school courses.

　　② The extinction of one species can cause the dying out of another. There, conserving endangered wild lives is essential.

　　我们知道，在雅思写作评分标准中，有一项是cohesion and coherence。正确地使用linking words正是其中一个重要部分，因此，掌握好linking words是很有必要的，不仅可以丰富文章的句式，还可以加强结构的逻辑。学生在写作的时候，一定要是思考写下的前后两句话之间是否符合逻辑关机，可否加入恰当的linking words。

　　上面的两句话之间没有linking words，我们仔细思考两句的逻辑关系可得出应该加入表示因果关系的linking words，因此可以变成：

　　有的句子之间加上不同类别的linking words会有不同的效果：

　　Producers manufacture, and consumers shop.

　　Consumers shop, so producers manufacture.

　　第一句为顺接关系，第二句则变成了因果关系，变化就是如此随意。

　　当然，确定好逻辑关系后，下一步就是用各种限定结构扩充句子，不然句子还是太简单了。

　　① Consumers shop in predictable ways, so producers manufacture with different target groups.

　　Or

　　② Because consumers shop in predictable ways, producers manufacture with different target groups in mind.
