大作文考题回忆:
Some people believe that public transport in big cities should be free of charge. Do you think there are more advantages or more disadvantages?
范文:修改自网络。267words。
It is argued that governments should offer free public transport to residents in urban areas. In my opinion, although this action may impose a burden on the government, it can bring more advantages to the environment and citizens.
Providing costless transportation to the public will be a huge financial burden for governments. The authorities would have to invest more in strengthening the public transport system since it is normal to see a sharp increase in the number of users of public transport if there is no charge. This means that governments shall not only deploy more vehicles, but also allocate funds to cover daily operational costs, such as wages of workers, fuel expenses and repair work. Such arrangements would possibly have negative consequences for other public facilities such as medical facilities and education.
However, I believe that making free public transport available will definitely be advantageous in different aspects. Firstly, it will be fruitful for the environment. With more people using trains and buses instead of private cars, the volume of exhaust emissions will be largely reduced and the air quality in cities will be improved.Secondly, underprivileged groups of society will benefit from the facility of costless public transport. They could use the money saved to purchase necessities and pay bills, which will help ease their lives. Finally, free access to public transport may attract more tourists, creating revenue for local governments and residents.
In conclusion, despite the disadvantage of stress on the government to bear exorbitant expenses of making public transport free of charge, I think that benefits to the general public and nature outnumber.
