Most residents in urban areas also live a fast-paced life, thus cycling cannot fit into their schedules as they have less time to spend on transportation and fitness.
In order to reverse the trend of decreasing cyclists, government ought to construct bicycle paths for riders to have access to roads. Moreover, government needs to promote the benefits of cycling, advertising that it provides a whole-body exercise and is one of the most environmentally-friendly forms of transportation. It is imperative to educate children when they are young about the merits of riding bikes, not to mention youngsters ought to go on cycling trips at school or with their parents. Government could also consider providing subsidies to companies that manufacture bikes or provide bicycles for individuals to rent in the case of bike-sharing firms.
