　　句型1 Given the situation , I would recommend that he live on campus.

　　鉴于这种情况，我建议他住在校园里。

　　given the situation 鉴于这种情况。像上面的句子那样使用分词的句法，会给人一种高级的语法能力。其实是If I were given the situation (如果我是这种情况)的省略用法。

　　recommend that sb do sth 推荐某人做…“做...不就好了吗?”对未来提出建议时使用的动词。在recommend(推荐)、suggest(建议)、propose(建议)等后面，不受时态和主语的影响，[人]的后面通常是动词的原形。propose是在有坚定的信念或根据的时候使用，语气比suggest更强烈。

　　Given the situation , I would recommend that he get a bachelor's degree.

　　鉴于这种情况，我建议他取得学士学位。

　　Given the situation, I would suggest that he study toward a master's degree.

　　鉴于这种情况，我建议他攻读硕士学位。

　　Given the situation, I would propose that he aim at a doctor's degree.

　　鉴于这种情况，我建议他攻读博士学位。

　　Given the situation, I would talk to the roommate.

　　在这种情况下，我会和室友谈谈。

　　Given the situation, I would recommend that the male student talk to the roommate.

　　鉴于这种情况，我建议男同学和室友谈谈。

　　句型2 If I were in his position, I would talk to the professor during his office hours.

　　如果我是他的话，我会在教授的办公时间和他谈话。

　　if I were 以前/曾经…。英语中有一种规则，表述“如果”这一假设的情况时，可能性低的时候，假设为过去时(假设法过去)。

　　实际的情况：I am not in his position, so l will not talk to the professor. 我不在他的位置，所以我不会跟教授谈。

　　假设的状况：假设为过去时→If Iwere in his position, I would talk to the professor. (如果我站在他的立场上，我会和教授谈谈。)

　　would do sth 会做…。在假设句中will成为would。助动词would有各种各样的意思，“一定是”的推测，“想做”的意志的用法，Would you help me out?(能帮我吗?)像这样用疑问文的形式表示委婉的请求和劝说。

　　If I were in her position, I would try to find his good points.

　　如果我是她的话，我会努力找出他的优点。

　　If I were in her position, I would consult a counselor.

　　如果我是她的话，我会去咨询顾问。

　　If I were in her position, I would report to the police.

　　如果我是她的话，我就会报警。

　　If I were in your position, I would do all of the above, except the first choice.

　　如果我是你的话，除了第一个选项，以上我都会做。

　　句型3 I wish I could go back and visit the museum again.  

　　我希望我能返回去再参观一次博物馆。

　　wish（可能性较低的）希望。希望可能性高的时候使用I hope，I wish通常用于希望性比较低，根本不可能发生的时候。这2个词组使用时要注意区分。

　　could（在假设条件句I wish之后）如果能够… 助动词can的过去形式，用在I wish后面的句子中可以传达“如果能做...该多好啊”的语气。

　　I wish live in a spacious house.

　　我想住在宽敞的房子里。

　　I wish I could live in a spacious house.

　　能住宽敞的房子就好了。

　　I wish I could live close to a grocery market.

　　能住在离食品店近的地方多好啊。

　　I wish I could live close to a station.

　　能住在离车站近的地方多好啊。

　　I wish I could live in an apartment in a complex that has a pool.

　　我希望我能住在有游泳池的公寓里。

　　I wish I could rent a house with a private beach.
