　　The aging population nowadays is taking an increasingly large proportion in our society. Some people claim that it is tough for the elderly people to live a decent life in the modern society. Personally, I tend to have a different opinion.

　　It is true that the senior citizens may face some difficulties in their lives. Firstly, people’s physical condition deteriorates inevitably as time passes by. Hence, they may suffer from various diseases and may lose the ability to support themselves financially and physically. Besides, the advancing technology may cause some difficulties for them since it is hard for them to acquaint themselves with the latest technology. For example, the online payment is pervasive nowadays in our country, but a majority of elderly still use the cash because they are not able to use them very well, which brings troubles in their daily lives.

　　However, we may also notice that the aging population may also enjoy better living condition than their counterparts in the past. To begin with, the medical advances greatly prolong people’s life span. Some common diseases like diabetes and hypertension now are no longer serious problems since their symptoms are sharply alleviated by intaking useful medicines. Apart from this, if the elderly are not willing to live together with their offspring, nursing homes today also provide much more well-rounded care systems with qualified medical personnel, which brings massive conveniences to their later lives.

　　As far as I am concerned, the senior citizens today are living a far more comfortable life than few decades ago. And I believe they should hold a positive attitude towards their lives and embrace the changes in this modern world.
