　　We live in a competitive society where opportunities can easily slip, and that fact makes it necessary for us to show what we got whenever we had the chance.

　　Since potential employers tend to decide whom to hire based on their strengths and accomplishments, making them know about what we are capable of is indeed crucial to our success in terms of finding employment. (That is why things like resumes and interviews exist.)

　　Also, knowing our specialties makes people more likely to ask us for assistance when they are in need, and being helped by us gives them, especially those important and powerful ones, a good reason to do us a favor in return. That again brings a bigger chance for success.

　　Influential people are usually very proud and they do not treat everyone equally, but letting them know what we are good at and how good we are at it makes them respect us more. Commanding more respect means a person is more successful socially.
