　　Ontario's education system is acknowledged as one of the best in the world and its goal is to develop graduates who are personally successful, economically productive and actively engaged citizens. Today’s students are entering a world that is more competitive, globally connected and technologically engaged than in any other period in history.  A major advantage of the OSSD program is that it helps students to develop the skills that they will need to compete in current environment.

　　加拿大安大略省教育体系被认为是世界上最好的教育体系之一，其目标是培养个性成功，经济上富足，积极参与的公民。今天的学生正在进入一个比过去任何时期都更加具有竞争性、全球联系性以及科技化的世界。OSSD课程的主要优势，就是能够帮助学生发展在适应当下环境和趋势的能力。

　　Ontario's education system focuses on developing strong communication skills, critical and creative thinking capabilities, and collaboration with others.  These are also the demanding skills to students in universities in North America. More and more programs in universities require the students to use their critical and creative thinking skills to work in teams with focus on problem solving and real case solutions.  Ontario high school students are well prepared to excel their university programs.

　　The Ontario Secondary School program is a credit based system that requires students to complete 30 credits in order to graduate.  One of the major advantages is that while 18 of those credits are mandatory, the remaining 12 are optional up to students’ choice.  The flexibility of the program allows students to choose learning subjects based on their interests and strengths.

　　OSSD课程是一套基于学分的课程体系，需要学生修满30学分毕业。课程的优势之一在于学分构成中，18学分是必修，12学分是选修。课程的这种灵活性可以让学生基于自己的兴趣和优势选择。

　　Students also are required to complete 40 hours of community work in order to earn their secondary school diploma.  This program encourages students to make a difference in their community, helping others and hopefully developing an interest in helping others throughout their life.  In addition, this community work allows students to put many skills they learned in school into action.  They can practice and refine their collaboration and problem-solving skills in a real-life environment.

　　同时，学生也需要完成40小时的社区服务来获得文凭。OSSD课程鼓励学生能够在社区中做出贡献，帮助他人，更理想的是，能够在这个过程中找到自己的兴趣。除此以外，社区工作需要学生能够学以致用，在真实生活中，锻炼自己的协作能力和问题解决能力。

　　Students are also requested to meet Ontario secondary school literacy requirement to graduate. To demonstrate enough literacy knowledge they acquired to meet the requirement, students can either pass Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test or succeed in Ontario Secondary School Literacy course.

　　学生需要满足安省高中的英语语文要求方可毕业。为了有足够语文能力，学生需要满足相应的要求，包括参加OSSLT考试或者完结OSSL课程。
